In the third round of the London and Southern Counties fours, a Townsend rink, comprising Bob Lawrie, Andy Scarborough, Alan Charran and Peter Armstrong visited Geralds Cross, one of the strongest clubs in the South, and won by 22 shots to 12. Their hosts conceded with two ends still to play.

A Funday was held in brilliant sunshine on Sunday, which attracted many children and grandchildren of members and their guests. One of our members, Ernie Wright, contributed a £50 note, which would have been won had anyone managed to deliver their bowl onto it. Luckily for Ernie his currency lives to fight another day!  Janet Metcalfe exhibited her precision in winning the target bowls, but only after a three-way play off had to be undertaken!
